A capital campaign for the
Food Bank of Reno County

Together, we’re working to raise $1,000,000 to renovate and equip our new Food Bank location for a more efficient, more sustainable future.

About the Project

About the Project Badges-02.png
  • New location at 921 E. 4th in Hutchinson (4th and Severance in old Family Dollar space)

  • 3X the square footage of the existing space = more room for shoppers and few people going hungry

  • Building has been purchased and tenant rent fully covers payment & expenses

  • 300% increase in cold storage space

  • Space for easy loading and unloading of trucks

  • Rental space available for other services like First Call for Help

Problems at current location

  • Lack of sufficient freezer, refrigerator, and storage space

  • Has no room to grow

  • Pays high monthly rent

  • Serves thousands of customers in 100 square feet of shopping space

  • Lacks safety and accessibility, especially for senior volunteers

  • Only has space for two families to shop at one time

  • Is forced to turn away donations of perishable foods (often healthier items) due to lack of space
